National Housing and Urban-Rural Development Work Conference Held
The National Housing and Urban-Rural Development Work Conference was held in Beijing on Dec. 21, 2020. The meeting summarized the work of housing and urban-rural development in 2020 and the 13th Five-Year Plan, analyzed the situation and problems faced, and proposed the overall requirements and key tasks for 2021.
The meeting pointed out that in 2020, the housing and urban-rural development work has made new progress. And in the 13th Five-Year period, housing and urban and rural development has made historic new achievements. The meeting stressed that in 2021, housing and urban and rural development should focus on eight aspects of work. First, the full implementation of urban renewal action to promote high-quality urban development. Effectively change the way of urban development and construction, accelerate the construction of livable, green, resilient, intelligent, and humanistic cities. Second, the long-term real estate mechanism program should be implemented to promote the stable and healthy development of the real estate market. Third, efforts should be put into rental housing and solving the prominent problems of housing in big cities. The construction of the housing market and housing security system should be strengthened. Fourth, the urban governance and the construction of resilient cities need to be enhanced and promoted. Fifth, rural construction action should be implemented to improve the level of rural construction. Rural construction evaluation work should be comprehensively carried out. Sixth, the development of “China Builds” should be accelerated, as should the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry. Seventh, effort should be continued promoting reform and innovation, and strengthen the construction of regulations and standards system. An urban physical assessment mechanism should be established. Eighth, the overall CPC leadership should be further enhanced, and a high-quality cadre team should be built up.
