Building Industry Becomes Important Driving Force to Rapid National Economic Development
According to the Construction Market Administration Office of Ministry of Construction, the rapid and steady development of China’s national economy provides a satisfactory environment and space for the development of building industry. From 2002 to 2006, China’s fixed asset investment increased from 4,350 billion yuan (RMB) to 10,987 billion yuan (RMB) with an annual growth rate of 26%. During the same period of time, the gross output value of building industry increased annually by 22% from 1852.7 billion yuan (RMB) to 4097.5 billion yuan (RMB), while the added value increased by 13.6% from 700.5 billion yuan (RMB) to 1165.3 billion yuan (RMB). From 2004 to 2006, the added value of building industry accounted for stably 5% - 7% of the GDP, becoming an important driving force to the rapid growth of China’s national economy.
