Practical Effect of Building Energy Saving and Land Consumption per unit of GDP to be Evaluated in China
As at present in China, energy consumption of buildings occupies 1/3 of the total, there is a huge responsibility to save energy and reduce emission of buildings. On the Fifth International Conference on Intelligent, Green and Energy-efficient Building & New Technologies and Products Expo jointly organized by Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Ministry of Science and Technology, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Environmental Protection and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, JIANG Weixin, Minister of Housing and Urban-rural Development, indicated that, together with some other ministries, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development is developing a three-year plan for building energy saving which will be conscientiously implemented after being approved by the State Council. From then on, building energy consumption standards must be strictly complied as a mandatory requirement and the penalties for violations will be increased at the same time.
According to the Assessment Methods of New Construction Land Consumption Per Unit of GDP and of Scaled Growth of Fixed Asset Investment jointly issued by Ministry of Land and Resources, National Development and Reform Commission and National Bureau of Statistics recently, China will evaluate for the first time the construction land consumption per unit of GDP in all provinces and municipalities so as to curb the extensive land-use and land waste. The evaluation results will become the fundamental consideration for allocating the annual land use quota and evaluating the leading cadres of provincial government.
