Conservation Project for Dujiangyan Ancient Building Complex Wins UNESCO Awards
As part of rescue and conservation projects for World Cultural Heritages after 5.12 Earthquake, the Rescue and Conservation Project for Dujiangyan Fulong Temple Ancient Building Complex has won the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation.
Located in the World Cultural Heritage Qingcheng Mountain-Dujiangyan Scenic Area, Fulong Temple is an important part of the Dujiangyan Ancient Building Complex, which was damaged badly during the 5.12 Earthquake. Regarded as the No. 1 post-quake cultural relic conservation project by the State Cultural Relic Bureau, its repair work accepted specific funds from the Central Government, and was undertaken by China’s most excellent specialists in related fields, such as ancient architecture design, repair and maintenance, construction supervision, etc.
