The Shop at the Front and the Factory at the Back (前店后厂 qián diàn hòu chǎng): It refers to a special business model that is characterized by the functional layout of a shop at the front and a factory at the back in the same land lot. It is also widely used in China to describe the interrelationship between Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta (PRD) in terms of labor division, with Hong Kong functioning as the shop overseas and the PRD acting as the factory in the mainland.
